What is Art?

Art is the process where one can explore the depths of their consciousness, we usually have an idea of what we want to draw. When we don’t know what we may have in mind we just let the pencil hit the paper and see what lines and shapes come out of us. Connecting the lines and shapes to make the drawings are what shows our general mood. Art does not only have to be drawing, it can take on many different forms. When we listen to music, it can help dictate the feeling that we want to express. Whether those feelings are negative or positive they are what help us release who we are as a person. Some forms of art are drawing, dancing, music, gardening, and even photography.

Art can also help the artist convey a message to the audience depending on the piece of work that it is. For example many historical paintings have had many messages of triumph over war or loss of something big or small. Today we have many messages in the art that revolve around the Black Lives Matter movement, and now we see photography of the Afghanistan crisis that is occurring. These carry messages to the general public that will either motivate them to do something or just have it in their mind that it's just us in this world.

So there is no one definition that can take on art because art is something that defines itself depending on what the thing is that we are looking, listening to, touching, tasting, or smelling. These things are what dictates what art wants its audience to think about it. The author also chooses what kind of symbols or colors they want to use in order to capture the full attention or convey the message better that they want the audience to think about.
